No!

BMW one's do not need replacing unless they are physically damaged, in which case second hand is fine.

I can supply BBT leads, with the sensor and casing for £76 delivered.

Sold a few sets to zoners without any complaints, wouldn't hesitate to fit them to mine if needed.

I've been an engineer for a lot more than 10 years, and there is NO advantage in using new leads on an E30 over good second hand ones! They do not deteriorate in the slightest, and most certainly do not need routine changing as a service item as with most other makes.

Without a chassis no I can only come up with these on my system, don't have in stock at my branch so not sure what they look like yet. real OEM shows they look similair to M20 lead setup?

Yours for £46.00 delivered, Prospark though, not sure what the quality would be like.

I never said anything about it been a service replacing item and neither are they on many other makes/models they only need replacing if they are; damaged, causing misfire, arcing out causeing hesitation or braking up inside causing a resistance change!!!!! and as for been an engieer in what? that could be in anything!! been a vehicle master tech is far different! so get off your high horse and just enjoy the forum!!

Brian knows what he is talking about.

Standard BMW ones are far better quality than anything aftermarket that I have seen. If I still had an m20 I would swap them for known good used ones over new aftermarket ones any day.

The OEM leads have in my experience a life expectancy of 20 years / 100,000 miles

The e24 had a new set of leads fitted last year, the originals were causing a misfire. They lasted 25 years and 108,000 miles

The e30 316i which we owned from new had a new set fitted in after 17 years and 84,000 miles. They also improve the cars performance

For the e30 I used Beru leads from GSF (I still have them if anyone needs a set for an M40)
For the e24 I struggled to get a set, the pro spark ones from Euros were crap so I sent them back and KMS sourced me another set which are ok, however meatballs can get Bosch ones so I'll be ordering a set some time soon

With the youngest e30's being 20 years old now if I was in need of a set of HT leads, I'd go for new BERU or Bosch ones or visit the dealers. £130 is not a bad price to pay for something that will last a long old time
