Prob. get one for 50EUR plus shipping from a place in germany, though I'm guessing that would be a copy?

No idea - dont know anything else about them unfortunately
I seem to remember someone in germany saying they ran a BMW motorsport chip in their 318is ring toy/track car though
Theres a company over there that seems to do various chips for the 318is that sells them (or copies?) it also does its own 318is chips from one with a 7300rpm limit all the way up to racing ones with a 7800rpm limit and 98RON minimum fuel

surely the rev limiter is there for a reason? if you increase the revs without any other mods or strenghtening then its a bang just waiting to happen!

Given that they specify octane levels it should be fine. I doubt there's any difference in the ECUs.
the even do one for a straight 318i
And an iS chip for 100RON w/ 8000rpm limit. lol.
The grp-n chip does say Original BMW but it's also the cheapest there... if that counts for anything.
