Sick of the dealer's policy!

Why is it BMW Amsterdam only sell the smaller E30 parts in batches of 5, 10, 20?? I went in for a couple of parts today and was told I had to get 5 of each, bumping up the original bill of less than 20 euros to well over 100 . Is it the same in the UK?

For some things yes. Normally batches of 10.

Even a set of 6 pot inlet gaskets? I was told I had to get 5 of them! They're shooting themselves in the foot by doing this.

No you should be able to buy those individually. Well you can in the uk.

A lot of small parts are only supplied in multiples from BMW. If a dealer doesn't normally have much or any call for E30 parts, then he's unlikely to buy in 5 or 10 in order to sell just one.

I ordered loads of odd bits from my dealer last year when rebuilding the turd - the only bit that gave me grief was front brake backplates that took 1 year to arrive - and which are now sat in my toolbox as the ones that are on arent actually that bad
