Thought this thread if added to enough might help the "whats it worth" people.
If we add our own cars to this list people can work out what kinda price bracket their cars should be in.

I reckon if we put what car we have, what we paid for it ,the mileage and condition it may give a brief view of what kind of price to expect.

I would suggest theses for conditon.........

Mint: Requires no work,body spotless,interior unmarked,mechanics tip top,FBMWSH.

Very Good; Requires no major work, interior would be up together and pretty clean, may have one or two stone chips or door dings, mechanics would very good and would have FSH though not nessasarily BMW.

Average: Body work may have some rust coming through here and there with stone chippings on leading edges, mechanics would be in good order but be expecting to have to replace a few bits for the MOT man, interior would ok except maybe for worn out side bolsters and a fag burn or two,and may have some history (meaning a couple of old MOT's and reciepts)

Poor: Would denote a car with rusty arches, ripped seats with stained and proabaly damp carpet, dodgy chassis, baggy suspension and a few knocks from tired joints,no history and perhaps a couple of months MOT.

I think these are fairly reasonable descriptions.
However someone is bound to mention, but my car has this and that, but lets try to keep it as simple as poss,if anyoine feels an edit is needed, then I'll add it if its a good idea.

So,I'll start the list, copy and paste...................

320i 1987, no extras apart from black leather sportseats + steeringwheel. Super condition but might not qualify as mint cause of not perfekt paintwork and two minute dents. 90000KM 1900Ԛ┚¬ (~1400 squid). That does not include the cost of getting it from germany to sweden + registration bla bla.[/b]

Jesus: Don't really know what my car is worth now and if i put the price paid it'll be a bit out of date as that was 2 1/2 years ago.

318iS (1991)

Unmodified car. Only extras - 14" BBS and elec sunroof.
Requires minor bodywork attention. Rear arches are just starting to get small rust bubbles and bottom of front arch/sills showing signs of rust. Few stone chips on the bonnet.
Interior is unmarked.
Extensive history during my ownership with new head gasket, timing chain/tensioner and full BMW exhaust (every bill/MOT) but a bit sketchy before (only stamps in service book, no invoices/old MOTs).

Paid Ԛ£2,000 in May 2002 62k miles (now at 109k hope it's worth Ԛ£1,200/Ԛ£1,500)

Poor 89 Red 316i.
120K
Rust patches (nothing major)
Interior ripped beyond belief was covered with naaaasty seat covers (and smelled strongly of dog 8O )
Fuel Pump packed in after a few hundred miles
Possible wheel bearing/CV problem on one wheel
4 poor condition "bottletop" wheels and 1 steelie
Manual S/R
No Stereo
5 months tax and 11 months mot

Paid Ԛ£300
couldn't possibly think of a price for it, too much left to do!

'89 Sport Lachs Silver, black leather.

Good condition. Two tears in drivers leather bolsters, small rust patches (soon to be taken care of- then making into the 'MINT' section) Alpina reps, EVERYTHING done to suspension and drivetrain. Perfect mechanicals.

I wouldn't let it go for less than Ԛ£4k.
