time for a new roof, one of the neighbors cats has a habit of sleepin on my cabby roof and sharpening its claws too!! so not to fussed cause the roof is dead anyway, but the last straw was when a small rip appeared which got bigger and bigger until one morning i found the cat in my car almost dehydrated, it had fallen through the rip into the car!! The rip is currently bodged up by sticking bits of jean material on the roof from the inside with rubber glue!!!!

so a two part question

1. where can i buy the fabric to make a new convertable roof, i want the original (or similar quality) fabric only. I can have the shop here make the roof for not too much, but they can only get later bmw roof fabric which is thicker (E46) and difficult to get it right on the E30 frame.

2. what the hell can i put on my roof to stop the cats sleepin on there?? anyone got any wifetales to stop cats, of yeah not rat poison cause i have a couple of cats too!! tried some stuff in a bottle that tastes and smell foul, but the cats dont give a fcuk!! HELP!!

I bought a Eurotop fabric-only roof, and it is good quality. Never fitted it as I didn't really need it doing before I sold that car, if you see what I mean. (don't know what postage would be like out to your good self)

I used to leave awkward-shaped things on the roof to keep the cats off if I left the car for a few days - sounds a bit naff but cats are difficult to educate (and I have 2 of my own before someone suggests something more draconian)

Would that not have the same effect as a magnifying glass and set light to the car :?

It dont work, my next door neighbours cat keeps using my front garden as a loo! My Dad said to me about the bottle trick because he did it in his garden and it worked for a few days then the cats get used to it! I tried it, but the cats just kept pooing on my front lawn.......so I shot the bottle with an air-rifle.
