If its his car and he's owned it more than a year then he won't pay duty on a personal importmark_i wrote:depending on where you are shipping the car, you'll be paying import duty, stamp duty, sales tax, compliance with ADR, plus registration.
Each state is different and the rules are always changing.
You'll need to fit a Kph dash, not sure if the concession of the little kph indications on a mph dash will cut the mustard - google than one.
At least you'll know you haven't got a huntsman spider in it if you import and keep the windows and vents closed. ..

The only thing the customs operatives cleanse properly is your wallet !mark_i wrote:huntsmen and funnelwebs are low on your list of worries.
$250 to customs for cleaning your wheels and tyres...
To add insult to injury, the £5 kosos do a better job .

Parts are expensive here if you use BMW dealers, a little cheaper if you use independent suppliers and probably cheapest if you ship them in from the US (Pelican, etc). The exchange rate is good at present so this makes things even more palatable.
Fill a container with (a) the car and (b) as many uncracked dash boards, genuine m tech parts, sports seats and 15" baskets and you will make a fortune!!
