rear metal bumper pre facelift- ive had the bumper blasted and powder coated, the bolts that joined the 3 sections would not un-do, so had to cut them off , so i need new bolts

part number 6, here, how many of 6 do i need ? as it shows 2 on the left, 1 on the right ??? yert says x6 in the qualntity but im sure there isnt 6 on the bumper ???

would i get the nut with them ? or is that number 7 ? , its a little un clear

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=51&fg=15

also, parts- 15, 16 , what are they ? and how many are there needd ? - it lists 2 part numbers for each of 15 and 16 ???

basicly trying to work out what parts to re-new here and how many of each i need ???

To join the sections you need 4 bolts (6) and 4 nuts (7).
The other 2 of each are to bolt the center section to the mounts.
15 & 16 are the mounts for the side sections. The bolts go through the wings from inside the boot. Don't know why there are so many part numbers for them though.

Can't tell you what 26 will include.
Number 9s from memory, there are about 18 of them but the only sure way is to count the slots in the metalwork.

That's not the best diagram/list really.

Here's what I think you need;

For #9 just count the number of holes in the bumper, from that pic I'm guessing you need 12. Without looking at my car I'm not 100% on the bracket, not sure why it shows one stud has different nuts to the other, maybe some are on the outside of the boot, I can't remember.

Yea, one for each mount, then four for attaching both bumper corners, two go through the top of the bumper which are covered by the cover plates then each cover plate is held by one.

no i think- there are just 2 at each end, 1 in the top , and 1 in the central- meaning 2 for each corner piece, i think ?

Yea, that's what I was saying. I mis-typed 8 instead of 4 for part 6. Looked at the diagram properly now and it's pretty simple actually.

Only thing I'd change from you original list is you want 2 number 18s, not 1. Then I'd say you only need 4 number 11s, can't see anything that the other 2 would be used for. Thought like you say, just speak to the dealer and ask what is in the fitting kit.

ok list edited, think that l do it ?

this cars going to be unreal, expensive, but unreal

when you start looking at things lke this- that list above, plus bead blasting, powder coating, then final paint coat- just for the rear bumper alone 8O

ive got bigger lists of part numbers for things like the valances, skirts, rear panel, front panel, arch liners, under tray, door mouldings, rear spoiler, head lights, plus things like all new roundels/badges, new kidney grille, might get a whole brand new front grille for good measure

ive had the black head light casings powder coated, all new fittings , things like that, will make it a lovely car, although il probably shite myself when one day i total up the grand bill for the job 8O

I'm in the same boat, all my reciepts get chucked in the garage or under the stairs at best. I don't want to know what's been spent on it and never will!
