Hi, can anyone help me? I have a leak coming from the oil filter housing on my 325i, the garage has informed me that I need a new housing but BMW do not sell this part anymore! On further investigation I believe that a seal/seals can be replaced although the only place I could find them was America! Can someone please give me some wise words of wisdom. Many thanks, Paula.

Get on the phone to BMW with those part numbers. They're still available according to that..
Failing that they only look like o rings anyway

^^this is what I would say too. Any uk dealer should be able to supply the kit. I picked one up a couple of months back for about £7 odd.leeparkes wrote:Id put money on No 7 leaking.

I'd say you should replace numbers 4 & 5 in that pic...The copper washer is probably either missing or flattened and the O ring will be perished.

+1, buy the gasket set, it normally solves the common oil leak.leeparkes wrote:Id put money on No 7 leaking.

The original material used for the O ring was found to be not up to the job, so a replacement O ring was introduced, made of a different material and of a different shape, which is why a new cap is required as well.
