Fuel filter location for E30 M3?

Hi there,

Going to replace the fuel filter on my E30 M3 '1988'

Any ideas where it is? it's not under the car near the rear wheel, like my old 325i, can't seem to find it.

I have read that it is in the tank???

The M3 has 2 tanks, is there a 'step by step' on this subject can't seem to find it anywhere

Should be next to the pump, which is at the NSR wheel.

Checked, it's not there. Most non M3's have them there.

It should be there. I'm fairly certain the fuel pump bracket holds the fuel filter too, have a look at make sure some pikey hasn't just put a pipe in.

Yep, should be underneath the sill by the left rear wheel.

It's in the engine bay, brake servo side

On m3s it should be under the car in front of the left rear wheel. If not there, then its in the engine bay by the firewall as these are the only 2 locations I know of.
