How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

A 1988 is probably a facelift. Do you have a chassis number - all you need is the last 7 digits.
Other identifying features are projector (bullseye/smiley) headlamps in place of the plain earlier type, and the rear wheelarch is about an inch or so lower than the pre-facelift, also the rear lamps are the taller ones with small reversing lamps, compared to the 'Lego brick' earlier style.

Put the last seven digits of the chassis number into RealOEM (www.realoem.com) and it will give you the build date.

Cabbys didn't conform to the rule of facelift etc, my coupe is a 1988 E reg (earlier than yours) and it is a facelift.
The bumper is probably just fitted badly

An F-reg will almost certainly be a facelift; the changeover was mid-way through the E-reg year.

Its a Facelift Tech2 Sport. The logbook would confirm this.

1991 325i Touring Alpine White II
1994 318i Touring Sterling Silver

Looks tidy that, there must be something you can do to align the bumper.

If he fitted a replica fibreglass kit, there may well be imperfect fit compared to the original BMW Tech 2 ABS items.
The proper ones should have a BMW stamp and part number on.
