Rarely in the rain, as lack of skill on my half has made for some brown trouser moments, and literraly at under 30 mph, kickdown on a wet surface on the auto mid roundabout can unsettle the old turd somethimes
My touring is my daily, any weather. The Sport was my daily even with the S50 fitted, although I only drove it once in the snow and it struggled to get off the drive! (its now in the garage awaiting a new engine).
Don't understand people who have issues driving them in the wet - unless they're full throttle everywhere, somethings wrong with the car/shite tyres, or people just don't pay attention, an E30 is perfectly fine in any weather condition.

Touring is taxed all year and mostly is in daily use.
Cabbie has not seen much use this 'summer',the final straw here was Brittany Ferries going on strike and our trip to Spain and Portugal via cabbie being cancelled!
We now fly to Portugal Saturday(train to Stansted)and train across Portugal to pick up a hire boat, would have been much more fun using the cabbie!

Youth is wasted on the young.
Daily driver, has been for over 6 years, stands out in all weathers, goes out in all weathers including snow.
Stays a home on bank holidays though, cos I go to the pub, bugger spending your day off in a queue behind a caravan

Schadenfreude - the German's haven't got a word for that.

It's an every dayer for me.. As much as I love my 325i Touring. It still only cost £1100, so its better been driven than sitting at home looking pretty.
I have another E30 in a my sisters tiny garage, which is in need of a fair bit of work, but once that's back on the road.. it'll be used along with the Touring everyday between my girlfriend and I..

Agreed, never had issues with my e30 on the road drove it everyday inc in the snow and didn't have too much of an issue in the snow. It's off the road now for some upgrades. Will be using an E36 through the winter.jmc330i wrote: Don't understand people who have issues driving them in the wet - unless they're full throttle everywhere, somethings wrong with the car/shite tyres, or people just don't pay attention, an E30 is perfectly fine in any weather condition.

every day as im not rich enough for two cars, last few years has rusted out the rear valance though
i dont see the issue as well in rain i take it easy, switch on the heated seats and just lean back and feather the throttle,

My main issue was getting off the drive with a slight incline, and then pulling away. If I pulled away with no throttle, just on the clutch, got up to 3rd and applied a tiny bit of throttle it would just spin up from tick-over speeds. I think the near 300bhp and what I'd class as summer tyres didn't help lol. Definitely getting some winter tyres for this winter to cope with the M40 powermaxfield wrote:didn't have too much of an issue in the snow.

For the first few years i had the Sport it was used all year round whatever the weather but now its only taxed for six months a year from march till sept.
Been using it daily (including when raining!) for the last couple of weeks as my daily is in the bodyshop.
It's not so much the rain, its the salt and grit during winter.

I reckon I could have mine back together before xmas but I think I'll leave her parked up (outside) until the worst of the frost is gone and start driving her in Feb.
Hey kids, it rained back in the 80's as well and people didn't have a problem back then...
Pony, what hassle.
Suchy, the 80's was 20+ years ago and the cars were new.
20+ winters have taken their their toll on most E30's!

Yeah if you got some damp shitty garage.retroboyo wrote:Keeping them locked up in a garage isnt problem free, they can rust from the inside out
Yes cars can deteriorate if stored incorrectly but if you have a warm dry storage facility then it's all good.
