Hi,

I've been lurking on here reading everything for ages now and when my current car ends on ebay in a couple of days I'll be in a position to buy a new car at last.

What I'm looking for is a tourer. I need persuading why an E30 325 is better than a E34 525 tourer which are also available for the same price and maybe slightly younger.

Also I've not yet driven an E30 so I'd also like to know how 'torquey' the engine is (I guess I want to know how much it needs revving to make reasonable progress - I don't mind giving it some welly sometimes. but not all the time!). I'm comparing it to my girlfriends 528 (which is a bit unfair!), or my old Ford Focus (2.0 petrol) I suppose.

Any comments to help me make up my mind would be great!!

Thanks

Andrew

Buy one, you won't regret it. I've been trying to keep below 3000 rpm recently and you can still make very respectable progress. Very understated car normally but when you put your foot down people certainly start to look.

im looking for one at the moment . u wont fault it basicly
but the e34 525 will have more weight and they are always cleaner/better spec for the money but they are both good at the end of it.

just that if you get a nice one and stack it i will be cross as its one less out there i cant have. lol
