Spoken to seller,
seems genuine and car seems pretty straight. Just some minor things like clips for glove compartment, couple of clips on door cards, has had BMW rear arches and loads of engine work done.
Been resprayed after teh arches were done.
Doesnt have any rust - bit by battery, floor well etc has been done already. Mileage is genuine too!
Doesnt have OBC/ electric sunroof...

I love the line " it just needs some glovebox pins that hold the straps on and a few clips here and there" This paedo style 'honesty' is no doubt a cunning ploy to get the potential victims to believe that the seller is a very fussy fiddler type serving a minter.
What he really means is " when we had the glovebox out to plop up the foooked bulkhead we lost some of the fittings"
Sounds like the usual patched up old snotter

Hey Gents,
I have actually been to see +- 10 cars in the last 6 months but I have contacted endless other sellers that I did not go and see. This was one of the latter ..
got this info from BMW service centre :
325i Sport Saloon
Metallic diamond black
Anthracite Cloth interior
Manual sliding Roof
3 recorded services :
Woolaston BMW in Northampton ( 1/2 mile from my house )
13/4/2000
8/2/ 2000
Waverley BMW Dorchester 5/3/2012
I had a very long discussion with the seller and he advised that the rear arches were cut out and replaced with genuine BMW parts, the front wings were also replaced as well as a repair to the battery well.
The Tech 2 kit was also removed and any damage repaired before painting.
He says he did a lot of the work himself and apparently he worked for Audi.He has spent a load of cash on the running gear and had the paint work done by a local garage.
He sent me some pics of the work in progress but I don't have them on my home PC. I will check if I still have them on my download list at work. Drop him a mail and ask for the photo's if you want to take a look. He was pretty cool about supplying any info on the car and he told me the car owes him +- 5k. It was initially up on a classic car site for £4.5 k then on PH for £3600.
Hope this helps ..

heres the link to the guys restoration, i use to own this prior to this guy... hence why i remember this thread....
the car itself is genuine sport, genuine mileage... drove very good and tight but the guy has spent alot of time on it by the looks of it, but all depends on how well the jobs have been done...

Found some more information on my work e-mail :
1- It is hpi clear, the only thing registered is it's had a number plate change and that was from the guy I bought it from, it's not cat registered or have any police interest awaiting on it.
2- it has loads of service history and lots of old mots, 60% of book stamps are BMW, it's last service was in April.
3- Arches are perfectly fine as I replaced them last year with genuine ones. Not just welded over the old ones like some garages do but the old ones cut out and new ones welded in place.
4- scuttle and bulkhead are sound, there's no holes where you'd normally expect. Unfortunatly I never took any pictures of the bulkhead but the scuttle I did.
5- spare wheel well is ok, battery tray in boot need a patch as pictured.
6- sills are in good shape, it's never been jacked up on the floor pan or else where apart from the chassis, I removed the kit about a year ago and replaced the drivers front wing as it was bad and just put a small patch on the passenger front wing as it wasn't as bad as the drivers. Passenger front wing which i patched,
Drivers front wing which I replaced,
New wing
Whole kit removed.
7 - there's no rust around any part of either screens. The sunroof is fine, the only issue was a small bit of surface on the drivers side which I smoothed back, which you might just be able to see.
8 - engine is lovely, it runs much better now than when I got the car! Doesnt smoke or burn oil all the oil seals were replaced and valve guide seals replaced, new water pump, cambelt, cambelt tensioner, both poly v belts, radiator, sump gasket, hose clips, coolant, HT leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, rear main oil seal, new clutch, new oil new filters (fuel and oil) only. New fuel lines genuine BMW, Brakes - all new brake lines solid and flexi throughout, new brake fluid, apart from front discs and pads it's had all new brakes. Suspension - all new bushes and wheel bearings apart front drivers front. It has been lowered by the previous owner and he cut down the front springs to lower it some more. Naturally I was horrified so I bought a pair of un-molested -40mm springs and binned his springs and fitted the new ones. Also fitted new bump stops aswell. New anti-roll link rods. Drivetrain - I have done nothing to the gearbox it selects fine and works as it should. The rear diff was leaking so it was pulled apart and had all new seals from BMW apart from the pinion shaft seal as this wasn't leaking, and re-filled with BMW spec oil from BMW themselves. I'll be honest and say that the propshaft bearing could do with replacing but it hasn't bothered me when driving it.
9 - It is a genuine sport, it will come back with sport on the log book.
Finally - it has electric mirrors which work, fully functional and adjustable leather seats including functional rear head rest, not just holes cut and zip tied in there. It doesn't have an OBC and its got a manual sunroof as I believe these came out abit later I think, so my car just missed out. But it has got the check panel infront of the sunroof handle. Hope this info helps Thanks
