Well t turned out ok cos I fited my amp and I'm happy with the stereo now.

Before I did that though I went to get an indicator lens from the local scrappy.. I strolled in... located one a the e30s (in this case a pre facelift 323) and proceeded to take of the lens. Now, it did cross my mind to just shove it in my pocket and walk out but I'm an honest guy so I went up the crusty old dude in the little office thing and said "just this lens and bulb mate, cheers" ... "fiver mate" he says.

WHAT! I said I'll just have the lens then... still a fiver. I couldn't believe it. I thought fuck it and said no thanks. I was on my way to the dealer to pick up some alpine white anyway so I thought I'd get one from there, maybe more expensive but on principle of the guy being a twat I'd rather pay more. Anyway... I get the the dealer and they were closed for "stock taking" bastards!!!! So no paint, no indicator lens and no replacing my bumper!

Your scrappy experience reminds me of one time I was at one. It was a bit of a dodgy yard as my friend and I were leaving one of the matey's came up to us and gave me a bit of a funny look. He thought we were nicking stuff and asked "what have you got in your pocket mate". I was a bit worried, "only some keys and some money" I said and then for some stupid reason I added "no mate I haven't got anything I am just pleased to see you"
He looked a bit shocked and didn't know what to say and let us go, I haven't been back there since.

pretty easy. there will be the connections in the engine bay that you have to feed back through the bulkhead, thats what i found hardest.

apart from that, instrumetn cluster connection and gong connections are easy, earthing points behind cglove box are easy too. the only fiddly thing is the four screws holding the actual unit in.

i removed my OBC from my IS in under half an hour an that was the first time i had done it so not to hard fella

Was your OBC factory fit? if so do you still have the coding plug for it, if so fancy swapping it for a 325i plug???

I've been running my OBC with a 325i plug for ages now, but i really must get a 318iS one!
