Has anybody used this company before if so do you recommend them?

for some time now i have been on the look out for a mechanic who has the know how to work around the old motors and get my Over Fuelling issue sorted.

I personally have done everything i can i.e.

- all vacume pipes
- manifold gasket upper and lower
- different ecu's tried and tested
- different AFM's tried and tested
- ICV
- Blue Temp Sensor
- Throttle Body

so now i have come to a stage where i am in need of help from a professional.

do you recommend any garages ?

regards
Jon

Unlike most 'specialists' Petes quality of work will be more important than shafting you with a large bill :)

OMG how on earth did i forget about this post here... must be my old age creeping along....

Right guys i still am in need of somebody who knows their wayt around the old motors. After visiting a few garages in and around the area (Romford, Ilford & Wansted) i have had no luck at all.

Seems as if i just pay for some diagnostics checks and at the end of all they say they are unsure of what it could be. I get a print out of some fueling figures and that's all.

Its come to a stage where i fire her up in the morning as you do... waiting 10 - 15 mins to let her warm up, in this time a huge smell of fuel coming out the exhaust, its so strong that my next door neighbor asks me to switch her off as the extent of the rich smell overkills the fresh air around the area.

its seriously rich, so rich that its now become a local problem

where is pete based?
does he have his own garage?

rich318i

AMW do you have a name and number for the mechanic that works there?

Kind Regards
Jon

Pete do you have any idea as to when you will have space or time to help me out?

and or is there anybody else who can do the same level quality work as you ?

all help is appreciated

Sorry guys i didn't mean to sound so negative in any way shape or form.

I'm sure bss325i is packed full of wisdom who is more then capable to resolve this forever running rich problems my car is going through.

After visiting a fair few garages in and around the area i simply have just been fobbed of, my kindness has often been taken advantage off. I visit drop car off with problem, come back pay the charges and drive away with same problem.

It gets frustrating and very annoying, i am not made of money nor do i have millions to keep splashing out. So i have learnt now its always wise just to at least understand a bit more about the mechanic who will be working on it.

Bass325i I will contact you in a few weeks as i am in no rush at all. The car is not being driven and is just sitting in the garage awaiting yours or pacerpetes availability.

kind regards
Jon

I'm curious as to how you know its over fuelling other than smell on cold start?

Has it been on a dyno?

What are the CO and HC readings as i assume these have been checked when its been to all these garages?

Its a very strange problem. On cold start up's in the mornings its absolutely stinks of un burnt fuel out from the exhaust.

The CO and HC readings can be seen o my older post here:

http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight=

and no it has never been on a dyno run. Please do have a quick brows through my post as everythign i have done to the motor is listed there.

Can you imagine on a cold morning just starting her up a few minutes before setting of to work, the amount of raw smell is absolute ridicules.

All garages have mentioned that upon acceleration she is consuming the correct amount of fuel however creeping along traffic jams and local stop and start journeys is where its more than a alcoholic and its where it will be drinking huge amounts.

very strange indeed. I am unsure of where i have gone wrong of what exactly is causing this.
