Hi just some photos after my seats have been repaired and dyed cardinal red.

Thought some of you may be interested.

The picture lighting and quality is shocking as taken in my garage with my blackberry phone (yes summer still hasn't arrived :( )

I will try get some photos with a digital camera in the light IF the sun EVER comes out again.

I will either dye the beige carpets red and put black car mats in the car, or will buy a black carpet and put red car mats in the car, not sure which way round to go yet, looks lush from behind and the side with the roof down though.

Might try dying the carpet red or black myself and if it goes tits up just get a black carpet set.

Getting the right colour Red for the carpet will be the biggest issue.

Very good they do small repairs, then dye everything, plastics, doorcards, seats and headrests.

They look almost as new.

My car is metallic mauritius blue, its a lovely colour goes well with the cardinal interior, silver will also look ery good, seen one or 2 on here in siler with cardinal and looks lush.

I was slightly skeptical about going cardinal rather than beige to begin with as never seen it in the flesh before only on photos but I am glad I took the risk absolutely love it, makes the car stand out and looks different, eeryone has beige black and grey leather. I wanted something different and vibrant that stands out, gives it a very good retro old school look aswell, suits the car brilliantly.

I know there's a lot of debate on here, some people hate and some love it, but I think its the best colour leather they did for a e30. Very pleased with mine! :D

I love cardinal but it's really hard to replicate using dye, you also need the cardinal carpet/horseshoe to pull it off properly

any more pics of the silver shadow ? :D

Wasn't that difficult to do Steve, the dyes are very very close and it'd be hard to tell if you didn't know otherwise. :D

Not easy to do the doorcards, but used a different method on them, and they came out really good.
Matt needs to put some better pics up.
The seats were all stripped of the frames and done that way, ensuring all the leather is covered.

the horseshoe has had the vinyl removed Steve:

http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... =horseshoe

i imagine it's east enough to red dye the beige carpets.

Bentley T1 actually Northerner, which has red leather seats also and very comfy they are too :)

glad you are pleased Matt, it looks good. definitely go for red carpet with black mats (like mine) and maybe black door pulls?

Thanks all for the comments and advice

Adi, I'd like to go for the red carpet, but need to find out where I can et a cardinal carpet dye from so I can get a good colour match.

E30 topless (steve), I will get some pics of the bentley t1 at the same time as the e30 if you are interested in it.

Rav, I will try and get some better photos on today at some point as going to a car show in swindon anyway.

Cheers all

Does look good, you must be pleased. Did you spray the dye on? what product did you use? Glyptone? What will you do about the horseshoe?

Rav sorted it out for me actually. I believe it was sprayed on with a compressor and spray gun.

The horeshoe I removed the vinyl Paul, so it was bodycoloued underneath.

Just need to dye carpets red now, just may be hard finding cardinal red dye for carpets, will look for a bit and if all else fails, fit a 2nd hnad black carpet set and try and get cardinal red mats, do bmw still have them in production the mats or carpets?

Cheers

No mats or carpets from BMW now, and even if they did, the prices would be prohibitive.
MurphyE30 went thought the business of dyeing a carpet red a couple of years ago, but never got a good results. Finding one, and Ive been looking for 2 years now, seems to be futile. :(

Found this, if you scroll down the add, it shows a list of colours and one says dark red and looks very similar to cardinal, but I won't know for sure till I order and it arrives and I worry that you will never get a perfect match, but wouldn't be bothered if it was only one shade different, as long as it was pretty much the same
