my first bm :D its got 70k on the clock (verified) had 69,200 when i got it a couple of months ago, paid Ԛ£1100, had to replace the chain tensioner and have the sump removed and all the bolts/gaskets replaced (had big oil leak), oil/filter change, sparks and two tyres for the back... anyway its running like a new car now and ive fallen for it big time. just wanted to post a few photos and ask for any info/suggestions/thoughts..i'd like some sideskirts but not sure which or whats available?..and its only got 14inch alloys on, would 15s make much difference? need to replace the air filters, any particularly recommended?, anyone able to tell what the suspension set up is (feels really firm)...
cheers

ps. the mark on the bonnets a huge bird shat, not paint work probs, heard it land on the car from 20 feet away, a nice thick green custardy one  .

Hiya mate, nice clean iS you have there!
15" BBS would look really great on there, definately a notable difference if they were fitted.
The suspension you speak of is probably the M-tech shocks and springs, these lower the car in comparison to standard cars by about 15mm.
As for air filter, stick with a K&N panel filter, only about Ԛ£25 new from GSF.

looks nice mate, always had a thing for silver cars!
Untill you get the side skirts, maybe consider painting the sills and rear valance in silver too, would look much better!

Suspension i think is Mtec as standard on the 318is i believe :)

Or would you mind PM'ing me the reg number, think I may recognise the car.

great to get positive comments,
didnt realise it was a bargain when i bought it, didnt know the 'is' was markedly different from the standard 318 (different engine..) thought it was more a cosmetic thing, lowered, front spoiler etc. pretty clueless really  !!

and it is great fun to drive, love the way it responds in the higher rev range, still coming to terms with the rear wheel drive, had a couple of hairy moments at first but able to control it better now, quiet roundabouts are loads a fun winkeye .
and acceleration feels really good, 0-50ish anyway, would be good to change up a little later when flooring it, but again getting used to that..

exterior has a few blemishes, couple of bits of rust that'll need dealt with and a few wee paint scratches and that radioactive bird poo :) , interiors spotless.

going back to ekos reply, painting the sills and valance in silver- i agree, think the car needs to look a little chunkier from the side, would a can of spray paint from halfords do the job well enough in the meantime?
(anyone got any skirts in sterling silver going cheap?) wouldnt want to change too much more outside maybe make the car sit lower over the front wheels,

reckon a set of 15 inch bbs may be in order
just going to search for a k&n panel filter now..

ta again for the feedback
anymore gratefully received,
cheers
