AIR HORNS...!! Anyone ever fitted them?
Moderator: martauto
Hey all,
Anyone ever fitted any airhorns to thier e30? I have a pair of used Stebel Nautilius 139 Db horns, and I'm considering fitting them. The yanks love them but I think they may be over kill for UK roads.
I've tested them on my battery and they are ear splittingly loud.!
What do you all think?

Completely and utterly chav, avoid.
Ud probably get nipped for it if u were caught using em. I dont see the appeal in a loud horn.

If you use them on a public road you risk getting a tug from the boys in blue..your call.

How come? Is there a noise limit or something?aimlessrock wrote:If you use them on a public road you risk getting a tug from the boys in blue..your call.
I know motorcycle shops sell 140db airhorns for bikes. And my brother has no problem getting his lorry through the ministry tests with 2 of them fitted.

I got extra air horns fitted to mine as i thought the original twin horns sounded a bit week. I did have a Dixie horn fitted on a previous car.
was a good laff sounding it when over taking someone ( I Know Big kid )
if they get pissy about ur exhaust being a bit loud i dont think theyr gunna approve of an ear shattering horn that makes everyone within a mile radius lose bladder controlNobby_N wrote:Why would you get pulled by the plod for an airhorn??? maybe if there playing dixie but doubt a standard air horn would even make the plod stop eating his do-nut!

I always liked the idea of it as an additional horn, mainly for those types of predestrians that deliberately take their time crossing in front of you. But now I'm sailing into my thirties, the ideas worn thin..

Check out the part about road traffic regs. Two tone horns are a no no apparently.
