Got the standard factory alarm but disconnected it when my solenoid packed in. Went to Autoglass and they said they could make up a new solenoid easy but I'd need the alarm code number - said that it should be with the paperwork / service history but I can't find it anywhere.
Any ideas where I might get this from, can you contact the dealer with engine number etc to get a replacement code?
Cheers

Don't know for sure, but I would expect the dealer to be able to help if you turn up with the VIN and proof of ownership.

Only solenoids you will find in your car, mate, are attached to the door locks or sitting on top the starter motor.Razza wrote:Solenoid = the wee box you attach to your keys and click to open and lock the doors....

Try the dealer for a new genuine key fob transmitter. You'll be pleasantly suprised by dealer prices from time to time.

needs to go back to the original dealerships records if you cannot find manufacturer on box i.e. scorpion, laserline etc.
records only normally kept for about 8 years so expect lots of huffing and puffing.
failing that take the old one off and replace with a more up to date jobbie that is the easiest option if you can follow diagrams and understand wiring.
