Hi just wondering what fabric the hood on E30 is? I've seen a lot of new ones are 'Mohair'.
I've found this link which explains a bit:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/EZ-Softtops/FA ... sonnedecke
Also found 2 hoods, one that is Sonnedecke and one that is Stayfast.
Pretty cheap here:

What fabric is the original hood?

Canvas.
To have a decent quality hood fitted, expect to pay in the region of £750.
It's worth contacting the specialist breakers,as good s/h hoods do come up from time to time.

Original roofs were sonnenland, for a very good quality roof do a google search for "BAS international" they do all colours for 450ish, i fit one on my old cab and after several years it was as good as new.

417 pounds and they used to come with the rivet panel too - not worth reusing an old one
