But I'm at a loss as to why I've done this, as Ive just heard that this year is predicted to be one of the wettest on record.

I've taxed my cab, which is generally not allowed out in the rain, from the beginning of June. Disc has just arrived, and I've popped it into the windscreen. I delayed it until June because of the rain ever since we went into official drought.

I was going to tax mine for June 1st as well, but a trip into the workshop to change a (leaking) steering rack to keep my MOT man happy, has somehow turned into a near full restoration, so as long as the rain stops from July 1st, I'll be happy.
least u could man up and drive it. i put tax on mine and the very same day the engine decided to put a piston through the rocker cover. Thanks to that and a few other niggles my car hasnt covered a mile since then, and the tax runs out at the end of august.

Lol I bought my car last year aprilnomot or tax, got it mot'd the day after then parked it on my drive as it needed work doing, the first was the respray. So in order for me to drive car the resprayers I had to tax it and was estimated in getting car back in 2 months well the sprayer kept car from end of April to 2nd week of December. What a waste of money on tax.

Good case for putting the tax on petrol (as if theres not enough already!). I don't think it will be too long before they do this, the increasing use of low emmission cars, leads to a low yield for the taxman, and thats one thing they don't like. I can imagine Osborne announcing it at the next budget as a "fairer system for all". Bring it on as far as I'm concerned, as long as its not another goverment p1ss take!
