If it was a recent cat D then most likely it will be a small amount of damage that has been repaired by a new panel (wing, bonnet etc etc )
If it was a cat D from when the car was new ish then it could of been a massive repair job.
If it looks like its been fixed properly and its a clean shell it wouldnt put me off to much, just check for previous accident damage when you veiw the car, different colour paint, orange peel, filler bent inner panels etc etc

i remember e30s being alot more common 4 years ago and they were worthless, now there are starting to become more "collectable"fuzzy wrote:it was worth less when it was 4 years newer than it is now? really?Alex wrote:Probably something very minor then, values would of been even less then than they are now
you could get plenty of chromies for £300-£400 quid i remember when i bought mine my ebay was full of cheap chrome bumper cars and alot wernt in bad condition

to attempt to answer the fella's question.....
If it was me I'd be thinking of taking 15%-20% of any 'book' price, which you should probably work out by keeping an eye of what's sold recently, not what cars are advertised at. I'm a tight Scottish coont though.
There are defo less sports for sale these days and average ones are probably making £3k all day long - I don't know. Market forces are at work, and remember these are lean times so when things pick up again, prices will rise with it, people wanting to buy them and having more coin to spend.
Why am I so calm about this ? Because I'm 5 foot away from my clean Sport shell and I've all the bits to put it back together.
