Just got in from a long trip to london to pick up my new E30 :)

It seems like a great car and was surprised at the fuel economy on the way back up.

I put £40 in and done 280 miles home with some left (not much mind you)

Would like to say thank you to fabsp and his father for their hospitality.

Got 2 E30's now...well for now...i have a buyer for my Baur and ill be sad to see it go !!

hope you dont mind me borrowing your pic lol but yeah..nice clean motor this 318is and drives really nice and tight.

it didnt come with these wheels on but ive sourced some the same so it will lokk like this in a few days..some showroom polish in my valeting bay will get it popping .

no really

its got some sort of foil ..fly eye shat on the headlights..im going to find some split rim bbs for it or copies as im not bothered if things are not anally bmw like some of you chonkers on here...and apart from a visit to my mates bodyshop to get the paint 100% and reline the wings as they are not right, theres nothing else i want to do...apart from maybe an uncracked dash.

Actually, with alloy wheels, there's often good reason for going for a genuine part rather than a fake copy.

Cheap copy alloys tend to be made of crap metal that easily bends, cracks or corrodes (or all three) and are usually heavier and less well balanced.

i would post a pic but all the die hard goons on here would just get on here and hate. and tbh im bored of hearing it now..even though half of them dont even own a fooking E30.

Looks tidy in the pics.

Sod everyone on here, do what what you want with the car. But i would say with wheels you do get what you pay for, also worth baring in mind that the cheap copies are gaureneed to lose you money if you try to sell them on, nice original wheels like BBS/Alpina/Hartges tend to go up in value rather than down if they're looked after. Initial purchase is quite a bit more but you're on to a better deal IMO.

Walrus why do you care what people say about your car?

If your happy with the way it looks that's what matters no? If you post a pic on here then you'll get a loads of different opinions. Many will like others won't. So fooking what?

It's the Internet why is so important to you for people you don't know to like your god awful wheel choices? winkeye

i am happy with things mate... if you met me youde soon realize that i dont give a shat what others think..im my own man..but if you want me to be honest...this forum really gets on my nipples sometimes. New users come on and post stuff just to get shot down in flames off the usual suspects round here. Its not really me im bothered about...peeps have their opinions and thats fine but if someone posts a pic or something, even if i dont like it or if its not what i think looks good i wouldnt dream of hammering them the way myself and a lot of other new users on here have been hammered. Im a grown man and im thick skinned and dont give a shat what peeps say...apart from when i flipped the other week when i got called a "freak" (hit a nerve from my childhood lol) and was on my way down to rip his head of and piiis down his neck.

I just thought this was a place where we E30 owners supported each other and helped each other...i know most of the time that is the case but since ive been on here theres loads of cases where new users or even others have posted something in excitement to show everyone just to be slated and demoralized in a very unkind way. It goes beyond just banter...banter is great and i thrive on it but i feel sorry for some on here that have to put up with the crappy replies to thier posts.

All that will end up happening is that new users will see this and either 1. They wont want to post for fear of the replies or 2. They will not come back and just go to some other forum.

imho that would be a shame. Thats the point i would like to make

My post was meant as a wind up about the wheels on your baur mate.

I am in no way bothered what anyone does to their car, or says about mine.

It does seam as though people take strangers opinions a bit seriously IMO. It's the internet. Fooking hell if everyone drove Tech 2 sports or M3 or even Chromies it would get old quick.

The thing is alot of people know each other on here, tend to have the same views and most of us like a wind up. That can come across wrong to a few before you get to know the banter.

On a hole this place is Sh1te though you'll hate it. :D
