Doesn't it make you smile when...

....another E30 pops up in your rear view mirror and flashes its lights?! Had this on the M23 today - white 320i cabby.
I rarely see any E30s anymore and it's always good to see another still on the road!

After having gone a year without a road going e30, a month in to driving around I'm yet to see another, except people I have planned to meet. The anticipation is killing me, my main worry is I'll probably put it in a ditch what with all the excitment and that

When I bought mine, it had a terrible overfuelling problem and would cut out at traffic lights with a flooded engine. I'd sit there for 20 minutes, hazards on, while drivers beeped their horns and shook their fists at me.
The only people who ever stopped to ask if I was ok were other E30 owners. Happened twice, and both times the guys even offered to swap engine parts between the cars there and then to diagnose the issue
I miss that.

It is a very very rare occurance to see another E30 up here in scotland. Most have crumbled away by now. But saying that there is a old boy that stays in a big old mansion house round the corner from me has a white baur with a tech 1 kit that is truly immaculate.
Spoke to him about it and he has owned it from new and its only covered 27K miles. But he rarely ever drives or even takes it out his garage.
But that has to be the only other one I have seen in Ayr for the past 18 months.

I think Jersey has quite a dense population of e30's compared to the UK, no MOT will do that I guess.
It's the mouth breathers trying to tell you their e30 has 400hp because of a chip and air filter at petrol stations that bugs me

even last year i used to see the odd touring around this way and odd cabby around emsworth, or the odd e30 when driving in to pompey and back
its been a while since i saw an e30 on the road
which for all of us, is a good thing right ,a cull of the shitters leaving only the better ones, is a good thing
best time for me, was when i had not long had my sport, comming along the motorway and a tech 2 appeared along side, both smiled thumbs up and admired and enjoyed the moment side by side in e30 sports crusing along together, then he moved lanes to branch off another way and thumbs up we had a little boost and went seperate ways, awsome that was

Me neither - they get more common if you head up towards the North coast for some reason...Jos wrote:Hoping they will reappear out now the weather is improving, coax some of those hidden garage queens out. Not seen any in Belfast area in ages

what e30 you looking for ? theres a few local zoners and adit for parts and regular meets up the hill aswell

Last time i see u, i beeped the horn and rolled the window down for a chat at the traffic lights in hayes!!! Lol
E30s in london are seen quite alot but when driving around west london, you tend to get looks no matter what you drive, be it micra or bentley
In mk, in the last year, there has been a major rise in e30s. When i first moved there about 2 years ago, id never see another, now i see the identical twin to my grey one as an old boy down the road has one!

Head up the M2 to Ballymena, then out of town for Cushendall, left at signs for Newton Crommelin after about 8 miles and take the Orra scenic route. Single lane twisting road that cuts through mountainous bogland for miles and miles, and there's never anyone else up there....
(That's aimed at bab-91 btw!)

The Silent Valley reservoir, roads up their would challenge any driver. Very similar to picture shown. Narrow roads, large drops. Bog more miles.
Found them by complete accident.

Yeah, it's a great drive, and the views are stunning. Just try not to end up in a ditch! I drove it for the first time years ago in an E34 525i. What an experience that was.bab-91 wrote:Looks like alot of fun![]()

We do a bit of rock climbing down around the Mournes so I know the Silent Valley area a little bit. (Popular dogging spot, I believe. When you say you found these roads by complete accident........?

Ha well I saw 2 on the motorway today and the young guy paid not too much attention but the old guy and his wife in their ancient e30 gave a nice wave.Mk-IV wrote:Think im the only e30 owner younger than 112 in my area. i think about flashing or somthing, then i see the prune struggling to look over the steering wheel...
Going by the age of some of the drivers I see I'm not sure they see the traffic on the road, or even know they are in a car.Captain_Birdseye wrote:Ha well I saw 2 on the motorway today and the young guy paid not too much attention but the old guy and his wife in their ancient e30 gave a nice wave.Mk-IV wrote:Think im the only e30 owner younger than 112 in my area. i think about flashing or somthing, then i see the prune struggling to look over the steering wheel...
