Definitely not Bosal. They're for R reg Mondeos.

A genuine BMW system is best, but you're looking at £450 for centre and rear boxes. On the upside, they'll last 10-15 years, fit properly and give the best performance and economy.

The reason I ask Andy is, the last one we ordered through BMW, for a very fussy IS owner, who's been a customer for years, was a Bosal system.

Not sure if there wasn't stock of the correct ones or not. You used to be able to get genuine ones through euro's but not anymore afaik.

There is absolutely no way that a BMW dealer would have sold a Bosal system unless it was 'off the books' and they didn't mind risking a severe bollocking for selling non approved parts. Boysen yes, because they are Eberspaecher make the exhausts for BMW.

Bosal stuff is so badly made it's almost comedy - and they're not even that cheap. The only pattern exhaust I've used that was any good was some Italian thing with a four letter name (no, not Ansa). It was for an E30 320i, was dirt cheap and actually not at all bad.

It defos came from Preston hall mate.

Bosal are better than others like Timex or benson. Trust me they never fit without the gas axe.

Boysen aren't easy to buy on the open market though. Dealer only I think. 8)

That was very naughty - could get the bullet if BMW found out!

I regard all the aftermarket exhausts with the same contempt really - they all rot out in 3-4 years, and none of them fit or perform like the real thing. Alright for a banger I guess.

Big money for the OEM system. From what I've had the pleasure to fit over the years I promise you Its worth it.

just got my back box from BMW for the e24, £265 all in with new clamps/sleeves

thank go it doesnt have to be welded on

worth asking the dealers how much an IS system is, the get it powder coated and it will last a long long time

the last genuine rear box i got for the e24 lasted over 12 years. the rest of the system is original and still perfect after 26 years old !!!!
