Hope it's ok to post on here, someone might hear something - Could it be stickied for a few days?
Quick post to try and assist one of our E30Owners members 'age' (Adrian) who had some items stolen from his shed in Cork last night (18/01/2012).
If you hear or see of any of the following items for sale then please contact 'age' on E30owners or let me know on here and I can forward anything
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What was taken;

All I ask is that you update this thread with any bit of information you find, Jozi.
People who post stolen threads more often than not don't show photos of what was stolen, even if it's a cropped photo with the nicked item highlighted. A few people then are less likely to remember your stolen item when trawling ebay. Every little helps.
Posting a set of clear photos then and it might be flagged by one of our members. I would also let all yards know in the local area to look out for the shell.
Post us a photo of the E30 shell, engine inlet and rocker cover, the eaton if it had any identifiable scratches, the compressor maybe if it's rusty in certain places...you get the idea.
We'll sticky

Are there are any other distinguishing elements of the shell as it's likely it'll be repainted before selling/re-use due to the 'rare' colour ?

Have asked him for pics. I vaguely knew he was quietly working on something but he pretty much kept it quiet, there's fresh paint on it and in that colour it going to be though to hide/flog/etc. He's been round scrapyards and has asked them to keep an eye out. Thanks for making it a sticky, I'll keep updating when ever there's some news.
Probably the same guyskipunda wrote:There is a guy called Age on this forum online at the mo so hopefully he can give us a bit of info too. Thanks Jozi and best of luck to this chap from Ireland.

My guess is that it will be the mobile folk who like to deal in scrap metal and secondhand tools.
Over here they tour streets, and especially back alleys, standing on the rear of transits, spotting items to collect later that night. I hear they love the sight of a well padlocked garage or lock-up, imagining the treasure that lies behind, and are very skilled at opening them up.
Scrapyards all over Ireland will be the place to find the shell, but it was probably crushed the same morning. Car boot sales everywhere will be the place to find the tools. Hope he had them insured for loss.

]The car related bits have been found,
The shell was cut into peices which were inside 2 e34 shells
Along with what the scrap guy said looked like half an engine.
it was dropped in early this morning,
guards have said that money may be reclaimed from the dealer as he didnt check vin numbers before taking the cars and didnt issue c.o.d's
Thanks to everyybody essecially jozi dor posting on all the sites

Absolutely gutted for you. It's a cruel fact, but knowing what has happened to the car does at least stop your search for it.age wrote:]The car related bits have been found,

Was reading something earlier today and they are to look into the legislation for scrap metal, it hasn't been updated since it was introduced in 1964!!

its not the scrap metal regulations that need sorting out, its the thieving pikey scum that are stealing the stuff in the first place.

I totally agree, i think people should start having to register at scrap metal places so if anythin incriminating is found they know who to look for.
Its too easy to roll up with a transit full of copper or any metal and the scrapmen just hand out the cash,.
My dad and uncle are pipe fitters and as you can imagine weigh alot of copper and stainless steel in each year.
The amount thats been knicked out my dads and uncles garage over the years is disgusting.
I really feel for the guy in this situation and hope he doesnt give up on his passion for cars.
I hope the B*****s are caught, and weighed in emselves
