Don't think I've seen anyone retain the auto box yet.

If I was building a V8 E30, I think I would go the "gentlemen's" route and keep an auto box mated up and have a nice SE spec/ leathered up comfy cruiser

I like the modern auto myself, however I would not recommend doing one with the m50/m52 mod as the motors lean at more angle than the original and I reckon it will have a negative effect on the auto box or complicate the transplant.
