hi peeps, does anyone have any pics of an E30 with smoothed off side mouldings?
i'd like to do this eventualy when finances are a bit better and i get a 325 8)

i haven't got any but i know it looks a tad odd if you don't have a kit - those side mouldings go with the bumper lines on standard cars.

plus, if you are planning to do this yourself - it's not just a case of bonded mesh/bit of fibreglass/smooth with filler...well it is, but basically if you haven't seen underneath the mouldings, it's not just the clip holes (although you would think it would be, that's what i did) but the whole length of the moulding is indented...

thought about doing this to mine whilst it was being painted,, decided against it as there would be nothing between my door and a world of idiots :-x

i work in a body shop so doing the job isnt a problem, just wondering how it'd look. also planning on smoothing the side repeaters and getting mirrors with built in flashers, and de-locking the doors winkeye

my old e30 was debadged (the roundels not the other badges that is just a case of taking off :D ) and that looks quite good too - tho some claim it made the car 'brandless'

you'd use solenoids, either by remote or a button underneath the mirror :wink: .

that pics what im planning 8) , think i'll leave the handles on though. i'll be de-badging it too and leaving it spoilerless, getting a new bootlid if need be
