Attended a race event here in SA, that had some of the fastest Street Legal BMW's in the country attending.

Start with my mates, adn their cars :)

Image

This guy is running a 2.7lt bottom end... and stock 2.5lt head

Image

325iS Evo1... running 288cam, port and polish, headers and exhaust...making 142kw ATW.

Image

325iS Evo2... 2.8lt conversion, 292cam stand alone management... used to run on 18" wheels, but changed to 15's cause the car was too slow on the launch... making 159kw

Image

325iS Evo...2.8lt conversion 300 deg cam... exhaust headers.

Image

325i Shadowline... with full M-Tech 2 kit... not sure of mods.

Image

Stock Standard 325iS Evo1 ... making 145kw ATF from factory.

Image

320i... with 325i Motor, and headers, with exhaust system, imported from UK.

Image

Dunno this guy, but he was there with us... Guessin it's a 325iS.

Now onto some of the other cars that were there, I know most of the owners of these cars, and have been in most of them.

Image

323i with a 325iS Evo2 2.7lt motor that has been turboed. The thing that is unique is his Dash... E36, pretty wikkid, considering everythign works.

Image

Image

325i Turbo Cabrio... Baur... like every cabrio in SA

Image

Image

This is the fastest Street Legal BMW in South Africa... 325iS Evo 2 2.7lt Turbo and Gas... still running the old M20 motor... best time 10.6 ...That equates to a high 9sec run in the states. The best thing about this car is it is 100% legal, no weight saving... still has a radio.

Image

This is the 2nd quickest BMW, E36 M3 3.0lt (3.2lt stroker) Supercharged and Gas... best time 10.9 sec ... It has a bit of weight saving, Fibre Glass fenders, Bonnet, and Boot Lid.

Image

Image

Image

Another quick E30... best time 11.1 ... guess what motor ? M42 Turbo ... making somewhere around 400hp ATW. Also reliable, never ever seen this thing break... surprisingly.

Image

Image

This is a mate of mine's car, E30 320i, with a 328i motor, running Turbo alone, bets time 12.1 ... he's struggling with Traction.

Now just some pics of the other cars that I snapped.

Image

Image

Wikkid car, making 1000hp.

Image

Chevrolet Lumina... known as the Holden Monaro in Aus... this one is Superchagred and Gassed... think it's making around 700hp.

Couldn't figure out what Comaro this is ?

This car has a S50B30 Euro motor in it.

Those are some pretty good looking beemers dude. I miss days like those in SA, theres a thread on here about the twin engined golf in cape town, pretty sad actually. Must have been a good day, looks nice and hot. Coming home next month, getting married 8O

That Twin engined golf is no longer, it caught on fire on the dyno... tok something like 7 fire extinguishers to put it out.

Awesome motors and as for the 10.6 sec car, that has to be one on the fastest e30 turbos about, quicker than bimmerjims i think. Some lovely looking cars as well, are cars cheaper to run over there or something?

Edit:It now says bandwidth exceeded for me too, perhaps photocucket is fooobarred??

the times, r cause we are about 7000m above sea level, and the tracks that we race on aren't prepared or anything... that is why our times r higher than the states.

If u right click on the picks, and click properties then copy and paste the URL it should show the pics in another window... sorry it's the best I can do for now, seeing as my Photobucket accounts bandwith is finished for the month
