ive had a quote for a 318i auto touring converted to a manual m20b25 for £1000 tpft when i turn 21 in feb, but i cant even get anything at the moment

haha no i dont have 5 grand.im 20 in january, so the chances are the car wont be done until im around 21 as im a student so the parts will take a long time to get because of money.if it was up to me id leave it as a 316i but as my dad paid for the car he doesnt want the possibility of me crashing and insurance being useless

It would probably work out cheaper in the long run to run what you have already and when insurance is more sensible, buy a 325i. It will be cheaper to insure a stock 325i than a car that has been modified with 325i running gear.

and so has a mate of mine,but his centre section has has opened up more,
