does anybody know who will do reasonable quotes on engine swaps for young drivers?im only 19 and ive just got a 316i, looking to do an engine swap next year to a 2.5 but the cheapest insurance quote ive had so far was 5000+

unless you have 5 grand.

ive had a quote for a 318i auto touring converted to a manual m20b25 for £1000 tpft when i turn 21 in feb, but i cant even get anything at the moment

haha no i dont have 5 grand.im 20 in january, so the chances are the car wont be done until im around 21 as im a student so the parts will take a long time to get because of money.if it was up to me id leave it as a 316i but as my dad paid for the car he doesnt want the possibility of me crashing and insurance being useless

It would probably work out cheaper in the long run to run what you have already and when insurance is more sensible, buy a 325i. It will be cheaper to insure a stock 325i than a car that has been modified with 325i running gear.

mine was with car on drive, 8000 miles, tpft, non standard engine which increases bhp by 55 at a cost of £200 (approx cost of b25 donk )

Ah, yer i get my 4th in Feb, seen the engine, bit too soon really, need to clean my rather full garage and see what bits ive got as ive got half an m20 engine and loads of bits in the garage

Hmm interesting,I've got a full scorpion,
and so has a mate of mine,but his centre section has has opened up more,
Sounds proper howly,on full chat it's awesome
