Remove the centre cap from the steering wheel. Bung a load of blu-tack in. Replace centre cap.

The ticking noise is transmitted into the car through the steering column from the engine bay - its nothing to worry about and the "blu tack" fix will get rid of much of it.

Sometimes its a small crack in your exhaust manifold..it was on mine!imye30 wrote:done as above to stop it falling but i hear a sound know like tappets ticking when i drive about any ideas any one
