Thats a kit that places like ECP sold in the 90's. It may be auto tint but they did different grains, i.e. straight grain or Burr walnut effect.

It's basically a stick on kit of dubious quality which was available not just for BMW's. I've seen Mk2 granadas with it as well.

Alpina did have a kit for the C2's but it was far better quality than the ECP Specials!

Calm yourself Trevor, I didn't mean it was that kit.
I stated that Alpina E30's had "That look" interior.

vinyl dress up kit, a few manufacturers about, some are quite good, but as with everything, to get it right takes time and patience. bushed alumimium or Carbon effect are the ones you want.

My collection of fitting instructions for E30 optional extras includes one for a seven piece real wood trim set, so something similar to this was available for all E30s from new.

Remember that typical British quality cars of the period would have have timber trim, the plastic of the German's offerings looked very 'cheap' by comparision.

These days, the fashion is very much in favour of the plastic trim, wood having been largely outlawed by the safety and crumple zone police.
Youth is wasted on the young.
