Realistically guys how much would it cost to turbo a 325i. Im not talking MAX MAX power you can get but, something with about 260bhp.

In some old TBMW magz those brothers from Austria reckon that for about Ԛ£3k you could have a car with 500 ponies. What are peoples thoughts on that?

And also is it possible to blag parts from other cars with turbos and make a mix and match set up?

Thanks in advance.

Most likely far more than your 325i cost you, unless its a sport. Its all very well saying that the parts are Ԛ£xxxx amount, but its the time involved in doing something useful with the parts is the big factor.

Can you do it yourself even, if not garages will want serious money as its not a usual conversion to be honest. Once you have it all built then comes the fun of tuning it which again should ideally done by professionals on a rolling road or the like. Unless you went with megaquirt(custom management) and had access to a laptop and were able to understand how to use it properly.

Turbo charging is not just a project for the weekend, its something that will take months of getting your hands skinned/burnt/stained you name it, then once you have done all of that you have to tune it.

Not trying to put you off, just being realistic, every m20 should have a turbo strapped on

Bring her to me Geoff, time I did a third

Some excellent points made by Jon there as always

to use all new parts is easy 4 figures, a good scout around your local scrappy may proove fruitfule too, scavenge parts of factory turbo cars like 740/940 turbo volvos etc. the intercoolers are almost perfect fit, charge pipes are useful too so make sure and rob a few of those

check out the forced industion section, Toby Unna recently aquired some tasty turbo morsels for a very reasonable price winkeye

Cheers fellas, Ant.

Well when i do acquire her Ant i'll most likely be dropping you a line. At the moment, I am tied up setting up a new business and putting the engine and box back in the Williams.

That definately skins the knuckles, stains the hands. Tight as you like.

Im out.
