"why is the classified thread locked"....continued

I locked it because I said it's not open for discussion.

I'm trying to make this a better place for people to visit and all I get from you lot is fucking criticism. A bunch of noobs turn up and say it's all shit and why not do this, that and the other and don't actually realise how bloody hard it is to make changes to a website.

I'd love to have this place perfectly tailored to suit all our needs but it's never gonna happen and you just can't please everyone.

It's a known fact that people don't accept change very well even if the change will be beneficial. How many times have you had a change at work and thought "oh no, this is gonna be crap" and it turns out alright.

It's not a big deal that the classifieds have been changed so why don't people just get used to it. If we don't moderate enough then we end up with a forum which is a total mess and if we try and moderate to a higher degree then we get accused of being heavy handed and I'm sick of it.

Just put up with the changes and if you don't like them it's tough, just accept it and put it down to personal opinions differing. At the end of the day, someone around here has to stop pussyfootting around and make some firm decisions and that person is me.

Now I'm closing this thread too because it will turn into a continuation of the previous thread, any problems with this then PM me.


Adam, are you intentionally trying to hack off the Zone members? It isn't just 'noobs' that have voiced concerns, many long time members are also up in arms about the ill considered changes you are forcing on us. You talk about change never being accepted well......well it certainly won't be well received unless you get buy in from those affected through a consultation process.

Did you ever stop to wonder why the original thread had so many replys and comments? Maybe it's because people care. Locking the thread is tantamount to telling all 'your' members that you don't give a shit what they think.

By the way, I 'love' the way you close threads once you've had your say, removing the right of reply of everyone else on the forum. I dare say this thread will be locked.....or more likely deleted before anyone else has a chance to add constructive comment.

And before you get the chance to say it Adam, yes I am a fu*king moron, and yes I am just trying to pi$$ you off. There you go, no need to waste your valuable time writing a reply to this, just click 'delete'.

PS I do appreciate that the mods invest their time for the good of us all, and I am grateful for all that they have done in the past. I thank you for the fact that the Zone is here at all......but I do not agree with a lot of things that have been happening of late.
