Before people suggest I try searching for the result I have tried but never got anywhere.

Due to the fact I am expecting my first child I am looking at getting rid of my e36 328 sport and downsizing to something smaller (hopefully back in a e30)

One option I am looking at is a e30 318 (nice one on ebay at the minute) but it is a 8 valver.... would anyone have any idead as to what kind of mpg I might expect from one on combined driving?

how dare you suggest I opt for a e36 over a e30 whilst on this forum lol.

tbh I really miss my old e30 and although I have loved my last two e36's I still wish I kept my old e30.

besides I have a houndstooth baby seat and would like to get a matching interior like I had in my old car before I fitted leathers

I guess a touring would be the most practical.

The 318i will be a good choice for economy, although an M43'd 318 will be better and they're pretty much bullit proof, if not dull !

I've owned a few E36's and they make you feel numb - there's nothing there :(
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....
