I'm not a DIYer when it comes to engines. This one was built by Bexley from my old 323i and then had my Sport top end added after modding. They used a new eta crank and pistons and of course bored out and machined block.
Your right, that's a MAF conversion, again installed and mapped by Bexley plus an ITG filter which they recommend.
The spec is in the member's cars - 327 section but has been developed further since that was written.

Player6,
I have an orginal Alpine Wiess 1, Alpina C2 2.7L. The engine is currently stripped down pending a rebuild, as is the entire car. Complete chassis up rebuild.
Once I start the rebuild I will photograph everything as it goes back togather. I`m not in any great rush as, I also have 2 E30 M3`s, which I prefer, but seeing that its an orginal Alpina have decided to keep and restore. I did at one stage come close to selling it but the bloke who made the offer just wanted to put the lump into an estate along with all the Alpina bits, and wasnt intrested in the history of the orginal car , so I decided to rebuild it instead.

Sounds like your being offered an eta engine from an E28 525e. As a standard engine swap don't bother as you'll lose masses of power.

If any of you guys know of a 525e going cheap let me know - I've got a 320i and plan to replace the 2.0ltr block with a 2.7ltr eta block. I think it's possible...

Modify the 320 head with the ETA block and it might be worthwhile...

Got an original from a youngster who didn't realise what he had!
he had blown the engine by being a complete t--t
now in the hands of a resposible adult (snigger snigger)
but will be returned to road where it's meant to be. Progress has been slow due to other commitments but it will be ready(minus bodywork) for the summer. H27's don't die they become rarer, I love 'em
