hey all. a few of you have all met my e30 or have seen the development on here for a while unfortunatly after 6 years it finally died on tuesday (day after my birthday!). the n/s rear beam mount ripped out of the shell taking some of the chassis leg with it during an extreme sideways manouever thus making it more or less a write off. it was sweet until i straightened it out then was met by a horrendous GRRRRRRRR noise. only to see the n/s axle floor on the floor along with some very interesting camber angles on the rear wheels. it timed it quite well as i was in the process of re shelling it with a mint diamond black 320 shell which is 2 weeks newer (finally) so it just speeded things up.
i was having an excellent rwd day up untill then so i suppose it died happy. it managed to waste a rally prepped mk1 escort, a 2.0 pinto dutton and a zx6r before it all got too much for it. it now is just a shell looking very sorry for it's self, shortly too be cubed (pics will follow) so for a short while i am driving the 325 tour bus which i will sell to buy new suspension, bushes, hoses and a 3.25 lsd for the new creation. i'll keep you posted as to what goes on and will post pics of the damage when i get my camera from work. needless to say i am a bit gutted as it was a my baby but it had a good life it's time for it too evolve now. i've managed to aquire a written off e36 evo cab so it could be up for some 3.2 action shortly. as soon as i can afford to upgrade the brakes and sell the smg box. but for the short while we can mourn the death of of another e30. it's heart will go on! lol

Dave,

It died happy doing what it did best unlike many e30's these days, driven by coffin dodgers stinking of pi55 and visiting tescos each week, having to be seen parked at a dodgy angle in a orange badge area. Sad.

No shame just happy sideways memories.. :drive:

Dave,

Was this the Hartge shelled car you brought down to E30Adams a year or so back? i met you at Adams, you came down to pick up some parts from Adam i believe. Your car was then a little battered around the edges.... i seem to remember you had just wiped out a fence post or something the day before with some RWD maneuvers!!!
