Went to get a quote done for the bodywork this morning. Looks like I am going to have to get this done in stages.

I asked for a quote for sorting the rear arches, bootlid and around the ariel post, blowing over the whole car including sorting a bit of rot that has started around the sunroof, fixing a crack on the front spoiler near the foglight. Also included refurb of alloys.

Anyway the quote came in at Ԛ£2700!!!!!!

So looks like it will be rear arches, bootlid and bodykit sorted and a lower half blend/ respray before I can look at the rest.

Gonna shop for some other quotes first also.

The cost of this work really does get me thinking of buying a late 316 in mint condition and doing a swap over of all the mechanical components but the missus has a freaky attachment to the car and says we'll never sell it.

8O thats definately a bit steep! a different spray shops needed i think, sometimes garages over estimate deliberately because they re not really interested in doing big jobs like that, so they try to put you off rather than just saying no.they seem to be more interested in smaller, quick turnover jobs to make more cash. for that work,id reckon to pay about Ԛ£1500-Ԛ£1800 max.
