*this is not my car, the brake pad light doesn't come on in my car*
The circled light is what I would like someone to tell me what it is... It goes on and off all the time while driving! ...?

Brake fluid level low or faulty sensor, my money would be very, very worn pads.
I wouldn't drive this car or allow it to be driven without checking the braking system visually with wheels off etc

If you see that tell-tale illuminated the first thing to do is to check your brake fluid.

The OP says in his original post, it's the pad level light.
E30's have two sensors one front left (nearside in UK) and rear right (offside in UK) though it won't be long for someone to correct that in some way.

The lit light means pads... but as posted originaly: This is "NOT" my car. My brakes work fine and that light doesn't light up. I'm talking about the circled one (in red) that is brake fluid levels?

Yes, brake fluid.
I know its not your car I was attempting to convey how dangerous this could be.

Ok hmmmm.. But it only turns on sometimes and then it might be off for a whole drive then on/off/on in 5 secs... what does this mean?

If it comes on intermittently your brake fluid level may be just at the low level limit for the sender?. Either that or the level sender is faulty or you have a loose connector. Either way, check your brake fluid reservoir.

In my chromie the light light in the picture above that is on, is also faulty in mine, but it flickers when going over bumps in the road or knocks etc.

Never had it looked at and on my list of things to do.
What does this indicate and what do I need to do other than check the brake fluid level?

the left warning light is "handbrake on", the middle one is "brake lining/pad wear" and the right one is the "brake hydraulics (low fluid)" warning light, as mentioned.

Did you solve your issue Jim. Either a loose wire or shorting to earth somewhere.
I've got to sort this on mine so will update here.

I always appreciate the country, I went for a few mile walk in the back garden the other day and that was good apart from it was cold and damp and raining lightly.
Its the built up areas that smell of diesel and has 'people' in it that makes me sick
Pound? Whats that? Anything I have the missus takes away to 'look after'

Pound? thats all the banks and the gov are going to be doing to all us.
What did cost a Pound that was a Pound (lb) when they were first issued?
Was all weights and measures before.
