I have just run a Probe 24v 2.5 v6 for around about 8 days.
I found the engine and all the running gear awesome!(not the steering)
I have only a 316 auto (carb) (which I think is the dogs ,not on speed,60,000 only) but I hanker for a 325 !

Come on lads ,325 v big probe ?

I ve not been in a 325 but I want it to win!

Sound off please!

In straight line figures the 2 standard cars would be pretty evenly matched i reckon, E30 may get the better start given RWD for good launch, lighter and similar power output. Aerodynamics will take over and the ford is probably capable of just breaking the 140mph barrier.

The probe is a bit of an unwanted turd though, not inspiring to drive, questionable build, leaky windows and uninspiring interior, the 24V lump under the bonnet is a willing participant in a poor package. E30 a much more inspiring drive but with dated credentials.

..probes is 160BHP I think...which is very poor for a much more modern lump than the e30 325s

by far the WORST thing about the probe is its steering, its over sensitive which is a real pain in the ass when driving hard

E30 everytime(and thats from someone who doesnt own an e30)

Not just the same engine as the Mazda, it's the same car, just with a different body!

Even the PCD and centrebore of the wheels are the same!
