Tax ran out at the weekend so was going to the post office to be robbed yesterday afternoon.
Went down to the car at lunch time to get my mot out and discovered it ran out on 15th of July!! Oooops!
So phoned the garage we use to get our cars and work vans and took it straight down there.
I was thinking it would fail on the lack of spare wheel, the rear bushes being shagged and a couple of other bits and pieces.
But no, it only failed on the horn. So they replaced my defective standard 4 spoke wheel with another one less shiny for the princely sum of Ԛ£40!!!!
My god!
I should have learnt my lesson from the last time I took my motor there as they charged me Ԛ£150 for an oil change, new oil filter, new air filter (unfitted), new plugs and my calipers renewed, (all parts supplied by me!).
I hate garages!! Butat least I have an mot now!
Mot Ooops!

just got mine throo its MOT too,
failed on front to rear brake pipe and some rear brake pipe
handbrake too much travel
horn!
and headlights adjusting (mine ALWAYS fail on that)
i got the garage to do the work - cost 150 quid all in which i thought wasnt too bad - i normally do all my own work - but i couldnt be pestered with laying on the drive again!
got the car back and fuel gauge wasnt working - noticed the back seat had been taken out (not put back in right) they ripped the carpet where the carpet clips on - fuel gauge wire was disconnected - i guess when the tried to put the seat back in, handbrake on light was broke, had to fix that too, handbrake lever cover wasnt on correctly.
i popped the bonnet yesterday to do a full service and noticed the light covers were just thrown in, lost a few clips, and the kidney grill wasnt clipped in right,
heh i started doing my own work years ago (16 odd years) because of things like this, and things still havent changed! next time im doing it myself!!!!

Nice one Daryll, sounds familiar, I've forgotten how many times I've done this, and forgotten an MOT, it won't be able to happen for much longer now though, as it's in the process of being computerised, and should get a reminder like the tax.
BTW spare wheel only needs to be lagal if fitted, if there's isn't one then no problem!

Yeah I now have in my person the new style mot which even pinpoints to the second when the mot was completed. Very clever stuff. Going to put a reminder on all my calenders now as to when I have to get it renewed.

That's a great idea! Like the birthday lists on other forums.SCOTT325SE wrote:I should put my MOT reminders on a calendar.. maybe an e30zone calendar? lol. Right, wheres lizzie gone? lol
Well done that man! Could also incorporate insurance into that....tax is an easy one as it stares you in the face everyday.
