I must admit, there does seem to be a lot of bad vibes on here that what there used to be. Of course the zone is growing, and an influx of new members is always going to lead to a difference of opinions.

However, thats not the case with all "big" forums. PistonHeads has been mentioned already. I've been a regular poster on there for 5 years, and even with 25000 members, the place is still quite friendly. That said, IMOC UK (a big MR2 site) can sometimes get a bit bitchy (Still, i spose thats hairdressers for you ;) )

It seems to be that its all down to the way a site is moderated. Dont get me wrong mods, I appreciate how difficult the job must be - It seems like a really fine line between a site becoming bitchy due to "lax" moderation, and a site becoming cliquey and unusable because of the Hitler esque regime.

I must admit, Im not au fait with the ins and outs of the way the zone is moderated, but might it be an idea to have some kind of "3 strikes and your out" rule for people who are directly set out to offend others, rather than voicing there opinion in a manner more fitting to a polite society?
