I was trawling all the websites looking for these last night auto or manual, facelift or pre.

I think i found about 2-3. One was a 1 owner facelift car!

Loads of "sports" but i mean non tech kitted 2drs SE's or even i's only. I think the time is coming!

its all cabs, "sports" and tourings seem to be left. 4drs seem thin also

Yep, took me about 5 months to find a standard 325i 2 door none sport. Loads come up that were a 316 in a prevous life.

That grey one on piston heads is the first one that has come (standard/manual/decent nick) up since i bought mine in November. Possible that is why he is asking for the 3K

Not sure where they have all gone??

on piston heads that Grey E-reg one was the only factory one i think and theres over 100 e30's forsale on there. I bet thats a cracker of a car, its only owner is matey selling it!

Where have they gone? Rust has taken many these last years. Many have been made into track cars. Alot were modified in the max power era. Alot i expect have been crashed in written off. It was all about the 2drs for years. I suppose anyone with a good one now is keeping it

I have not seen a nice normal 2 door 325 for sale for a while, my guess is most have been "converted" into sports. All that seems to be left is rotten frag, cabs or 318 tourings

there are more decent cabs about than anything else now as they tend to have had an easier life, good manual two doors have been rare for some time as for touring they don't seem to rust as badly but they have mostly been used and abused.

I have no intention of selling mine :D

Early facelift 325i, when ordered, no power steering, no electric windows, standard clock with hands, 9.4:1 HC engine, motronic 1.3, pre facelift brown colour glass too, but now green.

Its unbelievable how a boring looking standard 2 door is transformed with a simple sports kit.

The problem is when they rust, people don't strip them and get them on the spit for restoration.

I wonder in 5 - 10 years will people be trying to source shells to reshell their 325i sports?

I often think that a calypso red 2dr SE or other similar spec look just as good as a sport

Completly agree with you lee. I love calypso red cars and i wish i bought one instead of a brilliant red e30 :( Not a particularly common colour either compared to the other colours

my feeling is 2 doors are so scarce now that its almost your only option is to weld it up, or convert lesser engined 2drs - but even they aren't very common now either

Trouble is, you can spend your life welding up bits of shit. Thing is there comes a time in a models life where you have to accept the fact they are ancient and you have to let go. Rusty ones keep a good supply of parts, Good ones rise in value and become rarer. It's the circle of life.

2 door 325i's have been really thin for a while now, peoiple fragging them willy nilly a few year ago and the drifters buying them left right and centre didnt do it any favours :(

Thing is, lots of convertibles get put away during the winter. Many were toys. Hence the large survival rate and the smaller number needing weldathons. I bought mine over six years ago. Prior to that the previous owner stored it over winter for whats thought, 2 or 3 years. That means the cars not seen salt or too much hideous weather for the last 8 years. The pictures are on my threads. It had one tiny slip of steel let in one arch. thats the only work it's needed.

If you use an e30 now in the winter and show it all the salt? it will disappear fast! But I've said it before. Carry on "enjoying" them at all times of the year. I'm just waiting for the rarity value to kick in big time. Trouble is, it's not here yet.

Looks promising for the 320 owners who bought a decent shell from an elderly couple rather than a 25 owned by a city yuppy who cared not for it when new!

it's sad but true, good one's are thin on the ground,

I personally would rather have a nice original morsel laden 325i SE than a sport ! :D

Those 320i and 325i SE's look every bit as good as a sport.

Looks so classy.

Drop a healthy b25 into it and some perfect cloth sport seats and you have youself a very nice e30. looks better than a tech 2 sport if you ask me.

not everyone wants a cab or a touring or a 4dr. Demand is probably there still for 2drs but peoples hand gets forced now into looking for another bodyshape to settle for second best choice

Theres bloody millions of cabs about, but they've never pulled at my strings like 2drs and later on tourings have.

Some stuff is worth welding though if its not rotton structurally

Alas i fear all the decent 2 door cars are now very few and far between, the 4 door is now coming to the forefront :D :D

The below picture shows where a 2 door was parked during the recent earthquake experienced in the Northwest, heres whats left of its rear inner arches.......... :teehee: :teehee:

So glad i snapped up my prefacelift Polaris Silver 316 when i did, needs a couple of little bits doing to the shell but certainly not many knocking around with such little rust.

Hasn't Sweep got a couple of nice original 2 door 325i's?

I feel guilty for fragging this 2 years ago!

325iSE auto, bronzit with heated brown cloth. Ice cold A/C, 15" BBS and an iS front spoiler.

A non sunroof shell with a few scabs on the rear arches but that was it rot wise. 120k and FSH.

It was a gem!

Think the E30 in general is suffering a fate similar fate to a lot of the retro Fords, too many being broken when they have little wrong with them. I'm as guilty as many on here. Just looks like the 2 doors have suffered worst first.
