I'm after 4 locks for the Alpina centre caps, I heard you can get these from Maplins ?? Is this correct or does anyone have any other suggestions.

Also after the plastic cap that fits over the lock.

Any suggestions and recommendations are most welcome :D

Edit - I have the caps but no locks or the plastic lock cap -

Maplins part number CJ14Q looks like it might work. Maplins seem to have redesigned their website, however, so cannot see what size it is

You could also look on uk.rs-online.com and search for 'panel lock'. Wider choice there. In my experience these kinds of locks aren't always key specific, so all locks could be used from one key

It's not that bad really, lock set is £95, lock caps are £20 for 4, O rings are £12 for 4 and the badges are £32 for 4 = £160 then my discount.

Oh and 4 new tyres got delivered today too.

Should be picking them up from the refurbers early next week, I've seen them today and looking good.

Update -

I rang Cooks Ferry, no joy and they would have to order them from the dealer themselves.

A trip to the dealers today and I picked these up -

I need the O ring for the lock caps, bastids

Here's the lock set up -

I also picked up a cap from the refurbers, can you tell the difference between my original one and the freshly refurbed one -

After fitting the new locks to one cap, I noticed that it didn't fit my 7j alloy, a quick ring to the dealer and I need another lock set for the staggered set, picking them up Tues.

Also had these delivered for the staggered set -

I'm doing something similar to my 16" Softlines. What's a 'staggered set' and how do I know if I have that?

Cheers, I'll check that when I get home. Does 7 refer to tyre width?

I was under the impression that the minimum size of the softlines was 17 inch, as they were introduced on the E36.

Staggered set means larger on the back than the front.

Any pics?

This is interesting, because I thought this too, but the guys at my local BMW dealership kept calling them Softlines.

The E30 ones are still regarded as softlines, they just changed the design when for the E36 onwards in 17" and upwards.
There's a rare BBS 2pc split rim known as softline 2 as well

Are you sure?

The design of the later Softlines is different:

Classics:

In addition, Softlines have the hollow spoke with the valve under the centre cap. Classics (in whatever size) have the valve on the rim edge.
