Will be looking at a 323i e30 tomorrow, is there a good buying guide on the net or does anyone have a ready made list of advice for when looking at a 3 series.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers Bri

i dont know of any guides online, but can state the obvious...

check central locking works..
heater/fans seem to stop working too
boots can be full of water (can be solved by sealing the rear light clusters in most cases i think)
rear arches rust.

front of chassis where footwells are

also check strut turrets and sills carefully
check rear inner arches pull out inner boot side carpets and see if you see daylight (if you can and you cant weld run)
boot and sunroof seals
check front crossmember for crash damage under front lip
check door hinge mountings for broken welds etc
pull up carpet in rear check floor solid and dry
check engine for sludge etc check water bottle for signs of overheating
run car upto temp and keep running kp eye on temp gauge over halfway is not good

hope that helps a bit basicly just check everything
also have a good look at floors underneath check she hasnt been off roaded good luck and lets know how ya get on :thumb:

ps when you drive it make sure car feels tight if it dosent check bushes etc excessive rear play is prob main beam bushes cost 100to200 fitted
