You can buy the emblem.

I bought a new one piece gear gaiter/knob for the sport and chose my own emblem.

I'll be in the dealers in the morning, I'll find out.

When I was ordering mine, all were available.

Im gonna hijack a bit here. I bought one of the one peice lighted jobbies (apparently from an e46 m3) off someone on here who told me that if I replaced the plastic mounting frame thing on the gaiter, it would fit. Well I got a local shoe menders to glue it for me and then I refit the new one, clearly the hole the shifter pokes through is wider on my e34 than on an e46 m3 as the leather pulls the frame out when you shift, so Ive taken it back out. Anyway, my question is, as I am about to acquire an e36 is, is the e46 one likely to fit if I change the plastic frame again, or should I flog it and get an e36 specific one?

Thank you :thumb:

Its all working but the face has a chip under the plastic and the light shines through :(

Are the illuminated emblems specific? ie will a normal M-tech one let the light shine through.

Rob, no idea on your issue mate

Would it not be easier to remove the emblem, a blob of black paint/sharpie to the underside where the chip is, leave to dry, re-attach emblem?

C'mon, don't tell me you've never fumbled around in the dark trying to find the gear knob. Stick some lights in it and hey presto, it's visible at a glance :)
