I am just wondering if it is worth going from 195/65/14 to 205/50/15 rims and tyres - i find the ride at the moment very boaty and wou ld like to improve the handling a bit and plant the car onto the road a little better - - i just cant afford nice 16s due to splashing out on springs shocks and exhausts and am wondering would i be wasting my time going this small step up or would i actually notice an improvement?
thanks a million

i have read in another thread tht i earched on this topic that the wider tyres would actually give the car less traction in the wet? surely not drasticly though? maye one could run 195 on the front and 205 on the back? is that acceptable?

205 / 50 / 15's will make the ride much better. Cornering will be improved as will the looks!

Do it!

205/55/15" or 205/50/15" are better all day long mate :thumb:

Find a cheap set of crosspokes and you'll be sorted!

The lower sidewall will also make it feel less like a boat

the correct size for 15's on an e30 is 205/55/15.

with those on your car, traction, cornering and looks (depending on rim design) will all be improved.

take a look in the parts for sale section and theres normally a few sets of 15" bbs for sale.

I think there is a greater chance of aquaplaning (I don't know how to spell that) with wider tyres but I think the difference from 195 to 205 wouldn't be noticable and if they are a good tread design they should prevent that anyway.
