I bought a Covercraft cover second hand from ebay. £300 new, £45 in the auction. The more expensive ones are often tailored for a specific car, and a Triumph Stag tailored cover fits the E30 cabrio very nicely.
Been outside for two years, and the cover has protected well - waterproof and soft on the paintwork. I have not tried the cheaper covers, but I worked on the principle that if a £300 cover was not significantly better, then the company would not last long.
Martin.
