A good morning drive!

On the way to work to Teddington this morning, I spotted 4 whole, driving E30s!

That means that in the space on half an hour between 8-8:30 am there were at least 5 on the London roads. (my commute is from Ealing to Teddington)

Excuse my enthusiasm, but after 4 days of only spotting 1 E30, I was compelled to spread my joy

I brought mine this morning as i was in the office and couldn't face the Focus again!!

I was actually going to suggest a 'It's Friday, so bring your E30 to work' day, but I'm not sure it'll catch on.

Plus the fact that for me everyday is a 'Bring your E30 to work' day, doesn't help the cause much either. haha

I rarely see E30's about, but I saw an E30 316i this dinner time, nice D reg in red all chromed up, looked lovely. I was tempted to run into the road and knock on the drivers window, but I composed myself.

My day has just got better....

Whilst taking a test car for a spin, I saw 2 more E30's! That now makes a grand total of 6 in one day, in London.

Let's see if the drive home will get me up to 10...

Dangerously ambitious, I know, but I challenge anyone else to do better today

Right, just got back home now and, to my surprise, I spotted a further 3 E30s, one of which was an M3!!! That makes a total of 9 in one day.

I think I've done extremely well, and is a good end of a good week.

In terms of points, I think 18 has been achieved. (10 points for the M3 of course)

Anyone with more points is welcome to come and boast!

I think it's pretty rare to see E30's round my way and even more so on the motorway

i know that car! was parked in the carpark next to mine (white 316i) out the back of my works (cjs bar in stockton) seen another white one kicking about and the doorlad from my bar has got a few old beemers, black touring with 3.5 alpina lump from 5 series in it, a white 320 and a rather rare completly original alpina bi turbo (e34 i think) 3.5 twin turbo beast! other than these i rarely see another e30 round here!

i've been shocked by the amount of ignorant e30 drivers i come across on the roads, everytime i see one i flash and/or put my thumb up but i constantly get ignored. what do they think they'e driving? are they that clueless about their vehicle that they cant even recognise another one coming towards them in bright gleaming alpine white? surely if somebody owns a car like this they at least have some kind of small affinity towards its character/appeal that has us lot drooling over these old things in droves? the last two offenders i spotted on my home from work within 15 minutes of each other, both chromie cabs, both 30 something square looking mofo's behind the wheels, both reacting to my frantic light flashing and thumb raising with a look resembling a mixture of feeling threatened and total and utter dissinterest. i get more interest and attention off mk2 golf drivers than other e30 pilots!

Maybe they thought it was a Hotpoint fridge. Or they were too embarrassed as they were driving a BMW thats three generations out of date.

There are still quite a lot of elderly folk driving E30s who purchased them new as a retirement car 20+ years ago. Most are probably wondering why other E30 drivers keep flashing their lights at them!

I have to agree with MattheHat325..

Too many times now I too have been subjected to being ignored by certain 'offenders'.

I think it's fair enough if they are of particular generation, but those under 40 have no excuse to support the cause and give a flash. Even a smile would be acceptable.

I live in Malvern, which is basically a giant retirement village, and regularly see an immaculate 318 touring driven by a little old lady who I suspect is exactly who you're talking about darkchild.

AFAIK there are 2 other E30's on the road in our town, one a black 325 belongs to a guy round the corner from me, the other belongs to a young lad and is a 316 touring waiting for an M30 conversion I rarely see more than 2 E30's on the road in a week (other than mine which I drive to work most days)
