my 320i is going in for a new cam belt...
specialist wants Ԛ£160.00 all in
Bridgegate BMW want Ԛ£220.00- with the nice stamp in the book
what do u think....????
the Specialist Garage mechanics worked on the E30 during their training @ Synet & Bridgegate and know the E30 inside out....the company is called (Huges Brothers), based in Derby... 01332 20 26 20
does anyone know about them...
they sound good...and talk the right stuff...
plus they are cheap-ish...this is my first cam belt & tensioner change..i have know idea how much it should cost........should i get an inspection 1 or 2 done at the same time>??

thanks in advance....

It's not that hard, not much to go wrong as long as they time it up right and set the tension correctly. Depends on your conficence in the garage.

I wouldn't pay anything I'd do it myself

Parts will be about Ԛ£35 from GSF or about Ԛ£60 from the dealer.
That includes cambelt, tensioner and coolant.

I could probably do it in under 2 hours so don't let them charge you more than 2 hours labour.

I'd get it done at the specialists mate, but if its full BMW service history then i'd get it done there to keep up the stamps,
If they know there Beemers well then they'll do as good a job.
My local specialist stamps the book anyways.
I know its not BMW but it still counts !! :D
Plus its alot cheaper an definatly get an Inspection 2 if it hasn't had one in a while.
